I’m Mihaela, the photographer behind Mihaela K Photography, specializing in newborn, baby, maternity, and family photography in Brooklyn, New York.

Photography became deeply personal after becoming a mother myself.

My journey into motherhood wasn’t simple. After experiencing pregnancy loss, I became pregnant with identical twin girls. They arrived far too early at just 25 weeks. One of my daughters, Maya, became my little angel after only five precious days, while her sister, Janet, spent 90 days in the NICU before finally coming home.

That journey forever changed the way I see photographs.

I understand that the smallest details become the most treasured memories. A tiny hand wrapped around your finger. The soft curve of a newborn’s lips. The peaceful way a baby sleeps. Moments that seem ordinary today become priceless years from now.

Every baby I photograph reminds me just how quickly childhood passes.

Today I’m also the proud mother of two beautiful daughters, and they continue to inspire the patience, gentleness, and love I bring into every session.

My goal is simple: to create timeless portraits that will still make your heart skip a beat twenty or thirty years from now.
